Windows

Version
1.4.0
Released
24 September 2026
Works on
Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit)
File
Installer (.exe), 107 MB
Updates
Automatic, in the background
Installing on Windows
  1. Open the downloaded Renewal Tracker Setup 1.4.0.exe.
  2. If a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen appears, click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. The app installs and opens by itself. Create an account or sign in.

That warning appears because the app isn't code-signed yet, which is common for new, independent software. It's not a sign anything is wrong with the file, and you'll only see it once per version. You can check the file is genuine with the fingerprint below.

File fingerprint (SHA-512)

This is the same value the app's updater checks before installing an update.

Mac

1.4.0
Released
24 September 2026
Works on
macOS 11 or later
File
Disk image (.dmg), 122 MB (Apple Silicon) or 126 MB (Intel)
Updates
The app tells you when a new version is out

Not sure which? Apple menu, then About This Mac. If it says "Chip: Apple M1" (or M2, M3, M4 and so on), choose Apple Silicon. If it says "Processor: Intel", choose Intel.

Installing on Mac
  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Renewal Tracker into Applications.
  2. In Applications, right-click (or Control-click) Renewal Tracker and choose Open.
  3. Click Open again in the dialog. After this first time it opens normally.

macOS asks this because the app isn't notarised by Apple yet. If you instead see "Renewal Tracker is damaged and can't be opened", open Terminal (Cmd+Space, type Terminal, press Return), run xattr -cr /Applications/Renewal\ Tracker.app, enter your Mac password if asked (nothing shows as you type, which is normal), then open the app again.

Version 1.4.0, 24 September 2026

What's new in 1.4.0

A faster, steadier release. If you're on Windows and already have the app, it updates itself: just restart it when the "update ready" notification appears.

  • Instant saves. New and edited items appear the moment you press Save, instead of after a full reload.
  • Dashboard always in sync. Events you add show up on the Dashboard straight away, without a restart.
  • Keyboard shortcuts and a command palette. Press Ctrl K (Cmd K on a Mac) to find any item, event or section. Press ? for the full list.
  • Faster start-up. The app opens as soon as your list is ready, rather than after a fixed splash screen.
  • Safer renewals. Clicking "Mark as Renewed" twice can no longer skip a billing cycle.
  • Clearer when you're offline. A banner tells you the connection dropped, and the app refreshes itself when you're back.
  • Stronger account security. Changing your password now signs out every other computer.
  • Better on Mac. The app now tells you once when a new version is available, instead of trying to install it in the background.

After you install

Sign up with an email and password (no verification needed to start). Add a couple of things you pay for and the app takes it from there.

How updates arrive

On Windows, new versions download in the background and install when you next restart the app. On Mac, the app tells you when a new version is out and brings you back here to download it, because automatic Mac installs need Apple code signing.
