Privacy Policy
How Renewal Tracker collects, uses, and protects the information behind your subscription and renewal reminders.
Last updated: September 6, 2026
The short version: we collect your email, password (hashed, never readable), and whatever renewal items you choose to track. We use that only to run the app and send you the reminder emails you signed up for. We don't sell your data, we don't run ad trackers on this site, and you can permanently delete everything from inside the app whenever you want.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Renewal Tracker ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use the Renewal Tracker desktop application, our website at app.pablochtech.com, or any related service (together, the "Service"), how we use that information, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We built Renewal Tracker to solve a genuine annoyance (forgetting renewal dates), not to build a profile on the people who use it, and this policy reflects that design choice throughout.
1. Information we collect
We deliberately collect the minimum needed to make the app work. Nothing here is collected for advertising purposes.
- Account information: the email address you sign up with, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in a form anyone, including us, could read back.
- Renewal item data: whatever you choose to track, such as an item's name, category, due date, cost, currency, and how often it recurs. This is the core data the app exists to hold, and it's entirely under your control: add, edit, or delete it whenever you like.
- Item history: a log of items you've marked renewed or completed, so the History page in the app can show you a record of what's happened over time.
- Optional profile details: a display name, if you choose to set one.
- Purchase confirmation: if you buy lifetime access, we receive confirmation from Gumroad that a purchase was made and tied to your account. We do not receive or store your card number, billing address, or other payment instrument details. Gumroad handles all of that directly (see Section 4).
- Support correspondence: if you email support@pablochtech.com, we keep that conversation so we can help you and so we can spot recurring issues worth fixing.
- Basic technical/server data: our hosting provider's servers log standard request data (like IP address and timestamp) for security and abuse-prevention purposes, the same way most web servers do. We don't turn this into an advertising or tracking profile.
We do not collect or have access to your bank account, full card number, government ID, or the contents of any other app, browser, or inbox on your device.
2. How we use your information
- To create, secure, and let you log into your account.
- To store and display your own renewal items back to you, and nobody else.
- To send account-related emails: verification codes, password reset codes, daily renewal reminders when you have items due, and account-deletion confirmations.
- To respond to support requests and bug reports.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or security issues.
- To understand, at a basic level, whether the app is working correctly and where it breaks, never to build an advertising profile.
3. Legal basis for processing (for users in the UK/EU)
If you're located in the UK or European Economic Area, data protection law requires us to have a "legal basis" for processing your information. Ours are straightforward: processing your account and renewal data is necessary to perform our contract with you (you asked us to track your renewals and remind you about them, and we can't do that without this data); sending you security-relevant emails (verification, password reset) is a legitimate interest in keeping your account safe; and where anything isn't strictly necessary for the Service, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by deleting your account.
4. Email communications
Account-related emails (verification, password reset, daily renewal reminders, account-deletion confirmation) are sent because they're part of how the Service functions, not marketing. You can't opt out of these individually without deleting your account, since the reminder email is the core feature you signed up for. But we will never send you unsolicited marketing email, and we don't sell or rent your email address to anyone.
5. Who we share your information with
We keep this list short and honest. These are service providers we use to run Renewal Tracker, not data buyers:
- Hostinger: our hosting provider. Our backend application, database, and outgoing transactional email all run on Hostinger's infrastructure. Hostinger processes this data on our behalf, under its own security and data-processing terms.
- Gumroad: if you purchase lifetime access, Gumroad processes that payment as an independent merchant of record. You provide your payment details directly to Gumroad, not to us; Gumroad's own privacy policy governs how it handles that information. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers, advertisers, or analytics networks for advertising purposes.
6. Cookies and local storage
This website does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics scripts. The only thing stored in your browser is a single local preference, whether you're viewing the site in light or dark mode, and it stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. The desktop app is not a website and does not use cookies; it stores your login session locally on your own computer, the same way most desktop applications keep you signed in.
7. Data security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (never stored in a readable form), all traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit over HTTPS, and account actions like email verification, password reset, and account deletion use time-limited, single-use codes with attempt limits. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we've built this with the same care we'd want applied to our own data, and we keep it under active review as the app grows.
8. Data retention
We keep your account and renewal data for as long as your account exists, since that data is what the Service is built to hold and display back to you. If you delete your account, your user record, tracked items, and item history are removed from our production database. Routine backups may retain deleted data for a short additional period before they, too, are rotated out. We do not restore individual accounts from backups after a deletion request.
9. Your privacy rights
Wherever you're located, you have meaningful control over your own data:
- Access and export: you can see all of your tracked items and history directly inside the app at any time.
- Correction: edit any item, or your account details, whenever you like.
- Deletion: permanently delete your account and all associated data from Profile → Delete My Account, or by emailing support@pablochtech.com.
- Objection and restriction: if you have concerns about how a specific piece of data is used, email us and we'll work through it with you.
If you're in the UK or EU, these map onto your rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection). If you're a California resident, you have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we hold, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale, which is straightforward for us to honor since we don't sell personal information in the first place.
10. International data transfers
Renewal Tracker is used by people in the US, UK, and several Gulf/Arab countries, and our hosting provider's infrastructure may process data outside your own country. Where that happens, we rely on our hosting provider's own security and compliance safeguards to keep your data protected in transit and at rest, regardless of where it's processed.
11. Third-party links
Buying lifetime access takes you to Gumroad's own checkout page, which is outside our control and governed by Gumroad's own privacy policy and terms, not this one. We encourage you to review Gumroad's policies before completing a purchase.
12. Children's privacy
Renewal Tracker is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at support@pablochtech.com and we'll delete it promptly.
13. Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your data, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify existing users by email before the change takes effect.
